Leona Lewis has a beauty similar to a Filipina, I think. But when she speaks, her British accent greatly contradicts. And when she sings, you would not believe Simon keep telling her to overcome her shyness. She is so confident in performing and so graceful.

Maybe her shyness which Simon refers is the feeling that every after her brilliant performance, she transforms in to this shy little girl who seems not aware how brilliant her performance has been.

I saw her perform in the American idol way back the season 7 wherein David cook won. Confetti, stage fireworks and massive applause filled her performance. She sang Bleeding Love and reminds me how she also gave great performance in their country’s show, X Factor, wherein she’s the winner.

It crossed my mind immediately that what if she was an American and joined the Idol show. Would she shine? Or be outshined by David Cook’s rock styles or by Carrie Underwood’s country music songs? Whatever.

Leona Lewis is a great name for a great singer. It just fits. She can shine her own star.
